\u201cThe National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics in Bucharest turns 54 this year. We are coordinated by the Romanian Government through the General Secretariat, and I must emphasize that we are completely self-financed. We do not use public funds, but finance ourselves from the results of our research, projects and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our research is in the Cyber \u200b\u200bSecurity area. Today’s cars, not to mention the cars of the future, are mostly software. We created within the institute the first national centre of competence in hyper computing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have a digital forensic laboratory through which we test ways to make the automotive sector better. We have a project now for the radiation area, radio spectrum. Modern cars have internet connections, over-the-air updates, some are electric and connect to charging stations, and the hacking possibilities are much greater than in the past,\u201d Adrian Victor Vevera, General Director, ICI Bucharest said at Automotive R&D Power Breakfast organized by Automotive Today.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have a department dedicated to artificial intelligence. In the last 30 years, we have been dealing with artificial intelligence, which was then called deep learning. We come with developments, with in-house applications on the AI \u200b\u200bside to manage different types, to ensure safe comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let’s not forget that the weakest link in the cyber security chain is the person. In a car with many autonomous systems, we should start from the idea that many systems are cybersecure by design, but I think it is not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We want to be partners of the automotive industry and are open for collaboration. We are creative and adapt to the novelties that appear in the research area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are optimistic that we will end 2024 on a positive note because there is a great demand for cyber security solutions, blockchain, new technologies, that is exactly the products we are currently developing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
