\u201cWe are working with the automotive industry to develop cybersecurity solutions to protect the cars of the future\u2014both autonomous vehicles and classic-engine cars equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The risks of cyberattacks that exist for phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, and other devices are the same for a car\u2014only that in the case of vehicles, the level of danger is significantly higher.
We are developing digital forensics capabilities and applications that will enhance the quality and safety of vehicle usage, essentially protecting chip-based systems,\u201d stated Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, at the Automotive Forum 2025 organized by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u201cThe vast majority of new cars have access to data transfers, Wi-Fi connectivity, and they exchange data\u2014and in the future, they will exchange data with elements located along road infrastructure. Therefore, the risk of cyberattacks is very high.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u201cThere are automotive components and vehicles whose electronic systems collect data and store it in the cloud environments of their respective brands. A car will become just as effective a \u2018spy\u2019 as a smartphone is today, revealing information about a person\u2019s schedule, hobbies, personal data, financial data, and more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u201cWe are developing digital forensics because it is extremely important. We are developing applications that can be used in the automotive sector, because this area concerns us directly. We are also developing AI-based applications. We will build, for the first time, an AI infrastructure in Romania, and around it we want to develop a broader ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u201cWe invite automotive companies to join this project, because ultimately we will have a national infrastructure created by the Romanian state, which will be made available to academia, state-owned companies, the business environment, and SMEs\u2014precisely to help develop this ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
