Stellantis has commissioned a 12 MW\u00a0photovoltaic plant, including the largest PV carport\u00a0complex in Central and Eastern Europe.\u00a0The 6 MW carport installation generates green electricity for on-site consumption while protecting more than 1,200 commercial vehicles. On sunny days, the solar system can enable full energy independence for the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On-site installations provide our partner with something no other solution can offer: real control over energy costs,\u201d explains Piotr Grzybczak, CEO of Quanta Energy. He adds that in this model, energy is consumed exactly where it is produced, without using the grid and without incurring additional distribution fees, which today largely determine the level of energy bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Photovoltaic carports for large vehicles remain a relatively rare solution in the renewable energy sector. At the Stellantis plant, however, they have become a key element of the site\u2019s energy transformation, implemented in cooperation with Quanta Energy. The installation forms part of a broader investment program by the group, covering photovoltaic projects with a total planned capacity of nearly 58 MW across four facilities in Poland, all being delivered by Quanta Energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThanks to this investment, we are significantly increasing the energy independence of our plant. The 12 MW photovoltaic installation generates energy covering approximately 25% of the factory\u2019s annual demand and reduces CO\u2082 emissions by more than 5,000 tonnes per year,\u201d says Grzegorz Buchal, Plant Director at Stellantis Gliwice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The entire photovoltaic system is managed by an advanced AI-based platform that optimizes energy consumption from four sources: PV installation, cogeneration unit, BESS energy storage systems, and the power grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the next phase, the system will also be integrated with BESS (battery energy storage systems) with a capacity of 5 MW and 10 MWh, further enhancing the plant\u2019s flexibility and energy security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
