We are Romania&#8217;s number one mobility provider, and this project strengthens a key transit corridor while helping make electric mobility a practical option for drivers. As the electric vehicle market is still developing, public funding remains essential to expanding infrastructure and ensuring its economic viability,&#8221;<\/em> said Radu C\u0103pr\u0103u, Member of the Executive Board of OMV Petrom responsible for Refining and Marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total value of the project at the time of contracting was approximately EUR 40 million, of which up to EUR 12 million consists of European Union grants allocated to Romania through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Key Project Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>384 ultra-fast charging points<\/strong> installed across Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia<\/li><li><strong>Locations along the TEN-T corridor<\/strong>, including: Bratislava, Budapest, Oradea, Cluj-Napoca, Timi\u0219oara, Tulcea, Constan\u021ba, Giurgiu, Foc\u0219ani, Bac\u0103u, Suceava, and others<\/li><li><strong>Total investment:<\/strong> approximately EUR 40 million<\/li><li><strong>Romania:<\/strong> 304 charging points across 74 locations<\/li><li><strong>Hungary:<\/strong> 28 charging points across 7 locations<\/li><li><strong>Slovakia:<\/strong> 52 charging points across 11 locations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The project contributes to the EU&#8217;s objective of developing interoperable alternative fuels infrastructure along the TEN-T corridors, enabling cross-border travel and supporting the decarbonisation of transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project was implemented by a consortium led by <strong>OMV Petrom Marketing S.R.L.<\/strong>, together with <strong>OMV Hung\u00e1ria KFT<\/strong> and <strong>OMV Slovensko s.r.o.<\/strong>, in partnership with the <strong>European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>About OMV Petrom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in Southeastern Europe, with Group annual oil and gas production of approximately <strong>38 million boe in 2025<\/strong>. The Group has an annual refining capacity of <strong>4.5 million tonnes<\/strong> and operates an <strong>860 MW high-efficiency natural gas-fired power plant<\/strong>. In the retail petroleum products market, the Group is present in Romania and neighbouring countries through approximately <strong>780 filling stations<\/strong> operating under two brands: <strong>OMV<\/strong> and <strong>Petrom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OMV Petrom is listed on the <strong>Bucharest Stock Exchange<\/strong>, with <strong>28.1%<\/strong> of its shares in free float. At the end of 2025, Romanian shareholders held approximately <strong>45%<\/strong> of the company&#8217;s shares, including <strong>20.7%<\/strong> owned by the Romanian State and <strong>24.4%<\/strong> held by Romanian pension funds, as well as other Romanian individuals and legal entities. <strong>OMV Aktiengesellschaft<\/strong> held <strong>51.2%<\/strong> of OMV Petrom&#8217;s shares, while the remaining <strong>3.7%<\/strong> were owned by other foreign investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OMV Petrom is one of the largest contributors to Romania&#8217;s state budget, having paid more than <strong>EUR 48 billion<\/strong> in taxes, duties, and dividends between 2005 and 2025.
