Ford Otosan Romania has announced an investment of more than 36 million RON in a new photovoltaic solar park at its Craiova plant, as part of the company\u2019s strategy to increase renewable energy production and reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by its operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new solar park will have an installed capacity of 5.10 MW and is expected to generate approximately 5,531 MWh of renewable electricity annually. The electricity produced will be used entirely for the factory\u2019s own consumption, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 3,385 tonnes of CO\u2082 per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project is receiving non-reimbursable funding through Romania\u2019s Modernisation Fund, under the programme supporting investments in new renewable electricity generation capacities for self-consumption. The financing agreement was signed with the Ministry of Energy on August 19, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total value of the solar park project amounts to RON 36.45 million, of which RON 8.63 million represents non-reimbursable funding provided through the Modernisation Fund.
