Against the backdrop of stronger-than-expected growth in interest in electric mobility, both among individual consumers and companies, Eldrive Romania is revising its plans to expand its electric vehicle charging network nationwide. The new target for 2026 is 100 MW of installed charging capacity in Romania, up from the previously announced 84 MW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe market for new and used electric cars has grown strongly, and these vehicles are driven extensively and cover many kilometres. As a result, we have observed a steady increase in the use of our network,\u201d said Camelia Popescu, Country Manager of Eldrive Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of 2025, Eldrive Romania had 42 MW of installed capacity. In May 2026, the company announced that its target for the year was to double this capacity to 84 MW. This target has now been revised upwards. As a result, Eldrive plans to add 68 MW of new installed capacity during 2026, on top of the 42 MW already in place at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have accelerated all the station installation projects already underway so that we can better serve electric vehicle users in Romania. We can therefore announce that our new target for 2026 is 100 MW, instead of the 84 MW announced earlier this year,\u201d explained Camelia Popescu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of its upcoming plans, Eldrive Romania is preparing 14 ultra-fast charging stations with a capacity of 400 kW, as well as further growth in the number of customers operating electric vehicle fleets. These include not only passenger cars, but also light and heavy commercial vehicles, including trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is one of Eldrive\u2019s first steps towards further supporting electric mobility for transport companies operating electric trucks. Over the next two years, the company plans to develop 15 charging hubs dedicated to electric trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The number of charging points in Eldrive\u2019s Romanian network has now exceeded 1,000, with 93% being DC fast-charging points and 7% AC charging points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
