ABB delivers EV charging solutions for the largest parking hub in Cluj-Napoca

ABB Romania supplied the necessary equipment for the ‘Park & Ride” project in Cluj-Napoca, the largest parking in the city, having a total capacity of 850 parking spots. The facility is designed to support seamless integration with public transportation, allowing users to park their vehicles and easily transfer to buses and other public transit options, while their electrical cars are charged and ready for a new trip.

The successful implementation of the “Park and Ride” e-mobility project, aims to enhance urban mobility and promote sustainable transportation solutions in the Cluj-Napoca area. This initiative is a significant step towards reducing the city’s carbon footprint, encouraging the use of electric vehicles (EVs).

As part of this project ABB delivered, in partnership with Promelek XXI, a number of 5 ABB Terra DC 120 kW, as well as 20 ABB Terra AC 22 kW charging stations. Each Terra DC charging station can charge 2 electric vehicles simultaneously at a power of 60 kW each, or one vehicle at 120 kW.
