Eldrive reaches 600 charging points in Romania

Eldrive Romania has reached the milestone of 600 charging points for electric cars, distributed nationwide. In total, the installed power to serve these charging points is 26 MW. By the end of 2025, Eldrive Romania will reach 1,000 charging points. The main installations this year are focused on stations with powers of 200 kW and 50 kW.
“Eldrive has reached a robust position on the Romanian market and the installation of charging stations for electric cars continues at a faster pace than ever,” said Camelia Popescu, Eldrive Country Manager in Romania.
Eldrive Romania’s customer mix is made up of 60% individuals and 40% legal entities. Companies with electric and plug-in hybrid car fleets are constantly growing in the portfolio of the company, which initially only had individual customers.
“The charging infrastructure for electric cars must always be ahead of sales of this type of vehicle so that users can always find free, unoccupied stations. That is why we continue to invest at a sustained pace,” explained Camelia Popescu.
The Eldrive Romania charging network includes stations for all types of electric cars, covering a wide range of powers, from 22 kW AC to 400 kW DC. Eldrive has charging stations in 135 locations across Romania, with an average of 5 charging points in each location.
The company is increasingly focusing on creating charging HUBs, where at least 3 stations and at least 6 charging points are active. Typically, a modern charging station has two charging points, being able to share power between two electric cars charging simultaneously.
The largest Eldrive Romania charging HUBs have 24 charging points (Unirea Shopping Center Bucharest and Mega Mall Bucharest).
