Infineon expands its presence in Romania with the opening of a new office in Cluj-Napoca
Infineon Technologies has officially inaugurated its new office in Cluj-Napoca, which becomes the company’s fourth research and development (R&D) location in Romania. This expansion marks a strategic step in strengthening Infineon’s position as a leading semiconductor chip developer in the country and builds on more than a decade of successful collaboration with Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.
Located in the city center, in The Office building, the new facility will focus on the development of analog integrated circuits for the automotive industry. The opening is the result of a strong partnership with the local academic community, particularly through close cooperation with the university, which has helped create an innovation ecosystem and train highly skilled microelectronics engineers.
“Opening the new R&D office in Cluj-Napoca confirms Infineon’s confidence in the potential and capabilities of local teams to develop semiconductor chips that can compete on the global market,” said Guenter Krasser, Vice President and Managing Director of Infineon Romania.
