Victor Vevera, ICI Bucharest: “We need to establish very clearly how much we will allow AI to invade our lives”

“New cars are like computers on wheels and we must analyze cybersecurity risks very well as we adopt new technologies.
We must be cautious in downloading applications that are not developed in accordance with the laws and that may represent vulnerabilities through which personal data can be accessed by unauthorized persons.
ICI Bucharest develops applications that provide additional security, to bring that cyber protection to systems not only in the automotive area, but also to the devices that we use daily,” Victor Vevera, General Director, ICI Bucharest said at Automotive R&D Conference organized by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
Key statements:
- One of our projects is the development of a laboratory that is capable of ensuring the measurement part because any car today is a radiation generator through the sensors it has, the video cameras that recognize traffic signs, etc. This equipment generates radiation and they will need to be evaluated and accredited in the future so that they comply with some rules and do not interfere with other equipment.
- We need to establish very clearly the limits within which AI will be able to make decisions instead of humans and we need to analyze how much we will allow technology to invade our lives.
- Recent legislation promotes the idea of technology transfer, and the projects that receive support are those that, in the end, have a technology transfer part so that the result of the research reaches the industry, patents and patents in the country.
- The main challenge in the development of electric mobility is infrastructure, but we must also consider investments in the national energy system.
