BYD enters the Romanian market

Chinese car manufacturer BYD has officially entered the Romanian market with four models, three electric and one plug-in hybrid. The Sealion 7, Seal, SEAL U DM-i and Atto 2 models are now available to customers on the local market.
The first sales centers in Romania are opened in Bucharest, in partnership with Țiriac Auto and DAB Auto.
BYD estimates that it will expand the network to over 30 points of sale nationwide by the end of 2025, including in cities such as Ploiești, Brașov, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Constanța, Pitești and Craiova.
Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, said: “We are very excited to launch the network in Romania. At BYD, our mission is to make our sustainable technologies as accessible as possible to as many customers as possible, so every new market in Europe is of particular importance to us. We look forward to expanding our presence in Romania throughout 2025 and beyond.”
In November last year, BYD became the first automaker in the world to reach the milestone of 10 million electric vehicles and PHEVs produced. BYD has over 110,000 engineers and technicians.
Founded in 1995 as a rechargeable battery manufacturer, BYD has expanded its business into a diverse range of fields, including the automotive industry, rail transport, renewable energy and electronics, with over 30 industrial parks in China, the United States, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Hungary and India.
