Dacia to invest in 8.5 MW solar power plant at Mioveni factory
Dacia has announced plans to invest in a photovoltaic power plant for its manufacturing facility in Mioveni, Romania. The project will benefit from non-reimbursable European funding through the Modernisation Fund, with the financing agreement signed with Romania’s Ministry of Energy on August 19.
The solar power plant will have an installed capacity of 8.5 MW and is expected to generate an average of approximately 9,094 MWh of electricity per year, covering around 8% of the factory’s energy needs.
The project has a total value of RON 58.3 million, including VAT, with nearly RON 10 million provided through European funding. The remaining amount will be financed by Dacia.
The plant is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2026, with the implementation period potentially extendable until December 31, 2028, in accordance with the contractual provisions.
