AUMOVIO Romania tests equipment for the automotive, naval, and aerospace industries

The highly skilled AUMOVIO team of specialists carries out daily testing and validation activities in Iași, Sibiu, and Timișoara, using state-of-the-art equipment to determine the limits within which technology operates flawlessly—whether in a car, a ship, or an aircraft.

The Qualification Laboratories (QL) Department within AUMOVIO now provides advanced testing services not only for the company’s own technology and electronics divisions but also for other businesses in need of top-level testing solutions.

“We conduct more than 3,000 reliability tests and around 1,500 electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests each year, covering qualification activities for over 400 company projects. Our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditations for 19 climate reliability testing methods and 14 EMC methods have enabled us, in recent years, to perform tests for external clients as well—including in the naval (radar) and aerospace sectors. We can also provide testing and validation for any company within the automotive industry,” said Ciprian Samfescu, Head of Qualification Laboratories Europe.

The large number of certifications held by QL Romania allows the testing and validation of a wide range of technologies and products across multiple industries.

For instance, large automotive electronic components, up to 1.5 meters in size, are verified using high-power vibration equipment, climate chambers, and robots capable of simulating button presses or touchscreen operations inside the climate chamber—all within a unique setup offering generous space for advanced testing.

Another example is electromagnetic compatibility validation, which ensures optimal operation of electronic equipment in the presence of electromagnetic fields. Testing includes both the emissions of systems (such as multimedia, safety systems, or wiring) and their resistance to external interference, guaranteeing reliability in complex environments. Before being used in real-world applications, technology is thoroughly verified, tested, and validated to ensure user safety and comfort.
