Continental Anvelope Romania invested 700 million euros in Timisoara, announces plans for 2026
Continental Anvelope Romania has reached total investments of 700 million euros at its Timisoara factory and achieved a production volume of 15.3 million tires in 2025, according to a company report.
“At Continental Anvelope Romania, every employee, every production stage, and every detail contributes to a product that supports the safety and daily mobility of millions of people around the world. The investments we make strengthen our team spirit, reflect our values, and build trust within the community. By aligning our efforts with our long-term vision, we are building a solid foundation. Investments in people, sustainability, and community involvement are essential for long-term success and necessary to build a more responsible, resilient, and relevant tire business, now and in the future,” said Serban Nicolescu, General Manager, Continental Anvelope Romania.
In 2025, Continental Anvelope Romania invested in renewable energy by installing a solar panel system. The system generates over 3,200 MWh of electricity annually, covering approximately 20% of the factory’s total energy needs and contributing to a reduction of more than 1,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. This step represents a significant contribution to the factory’s energy independence and to its long-term objective of achieving carbon neutrality.
Alongside its sustainability-focused projects, the company completed an extensive modernization process for one of its production halls. This investment aimed to improve working conditions for employees, optimize industrial processes, and reduce environmental impact.
The modernization went beyond refurbishing the existing structure and included several advanced technical solutions. Among these were replacing conventional lighting with energy-efficient LED technology, significantly reducing electricity consumption. A rainwater collection system was also implemented, with the water later used in technological processes, reducing potable water consumption and supporting more responsible resource management.
For 2026, Continental Anvelope Romania plans to build new office space, reorganize factory areas for production and storage, create the green space Conti Plaza, open an afterschool center to support families in the community, and develop new modern parking facilities for all employees.
