Schaeffler: The former Vitesco Technologies factory in Ghimbav completes rebranding
With the integration of Vitesco Technologies, Schaeffler has taken a step in strengthening its position as a leader in motion technology. In Romania, Schaeffler has expanded its portfolio with three additional locations in Timișoara, Iași, and Sibiu, while its Brașov site – the company’s first and only location in the country prior to the merger – has gained a new production unit through the assimilation of the E-Mobility factory in Ghimbav Industrial Park. As a result, Schaeffler Brașov has become one of the Group’s most important locations globally, serving as the company’s headquarters for Romania and Southeast Europe.
A key step in the integration process has been the visual transformation of the new locations under the Schaeffler brand. The E-Mobility factory in Ghimbav, Brașov, is the first site in Romania to complete the rebranding project.
“Strong companies need a strong brand. The merger provided us with a unique opportunity to unlock the full potential of our entire product portfolio, and a unified brand is essential to support this goal. We are proud to be among the first within the Schaeffler Group to implement this transformation at our production facility in Ghimbav. From now on, in Brașov, we will represent the Schaeffler brand not only through our activities but also through our visual identity”, said Marius Pricop, General Manager of Schaeffler Romania Brașov.
“The rebranding of Vitesco into Schaeffler showcases the dedication and collaboration of our team. By bringing together cross-functional expertise and maintaining clear, open communication, the team ensured a smooth transition. With one goal and focused approach, we aligned every stakeholder to reflect Schaeffler’s values and innovation, setting the stage for a strong and successful future,” emphasized Sunil Moudgalya-Mahesh, Plant Manager, Schaeffler E-Mobility Brașov.
Schaeffler Brașov is one of the Group’s most important global sites, serving as the headquarters for Romania and Southeast Europe. Since its founding in 2002, Schaeffler Brașov has experienced rapid growth, expanding to over 6,000 employees across four factories, a research and development campus, a training center, and central support functions located in Cristian and Ghimbav (the former Vitesco Technologies site).
Three of Schaeffler Group’s four divisions operate out of Brașov, covering both research and development and production activities: E-Mobility, Powertrain & Chassis, and Bearings & Industrial Solutions.
