E.ON and MOL become partners for e-mobility: 592 MOL Plugee charging points, integrated into the E.ON Drive app
• The E.ON Drive application now integrates over 2,000 charging points in Romania;
• Last year, the number of charging sessions through the application was 32,000, and the amount of energy charged was 670,800 kWh;
E.ON Energie Romania and MOL Group through MOL Romania have entered into a partnership to support the transition to electric mobility in Romania. As part of the partnership, 592 charging points from the MOL Plugee network in all six countries in which they operate have been integrated into the E.ON Drive app, thus providing users with extensive and easy access to the electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The collaboration between the two companies comes in response to the growing demand for sustainable transport solutions, the needs expressed by customers and underlines their commitment to the decarbonization of the mobility sector. The integration of MOL Plugee stations into the E.ON Drive app allows users to locate, access and pay directly for charging services, all from a single digital platform.
“E.ON is among the leading companies in the development of European e-mobility infrastructure with over 7,200 public charging points, of which 336 are in Romania. The partnership with MOL Romania reflects the trends of interoperability and infrastructure sharing, essential for expanding the use of electric vehicles and represents another important step towards a greener future, with less pollution and CO2 emissions,” said Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie Romania.
“MOL Group invests in the development of future-oriented mobility solutions and is committed to making electric cars an affordable and attractive alternative for everyday life. We recently reduced the prices for charging electric vehicles at MOL Plugee stations, and through our partnership with E.ON we further support the development of e-mobility, connecting electric vehicle users with charging stations they can rely on in their journeys. In the year in which we celebrate 30 years of activity in Romania, we are happy to open new roads and offer an even broader perspective for electric car travel,” said Gábor Mozga, CEO of MOL Romania.
MOL Romania charging stations are located in 41 locations, most of them on the A1, A2 motorways and other important national roads, their exact locations being available here: MOL Romania station locations.
The locations of the charging stations in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia can also be viewed on the same page.
Total number of charging points made available through the MOL Plugee charging infrastructure for each country:
– Romania: 137
– Hungary: 254
– Croatia: 35
– Czech Republic: 89
– Slovenia: 32
– Slovakia: 45
By integrating MOL charging stations, the E.ON Drive mobile application thus exceeds 2,000 charging points to which electric vehicle owners in Romania have access, and at a European level the application integrates over 500,000 stations. Last year, over 32,000 charging sessions were recorded in the application, with over 670,800 kWh being charged, on average approx. 55,900 kWh per month.
Available on www.eon.ro, the E.ON Drive app brings lower prices compared to one-time payments, access to the station map and their status, favorite stations, RFID card issuance for start-stop charging and payment directly from the mobile app.
