Romania’s car production rises slightly in September, despite lower year-to-date output
In September, a total of 52,399 new vehicles were produced at the factories in Mioveni and Craiova, an increase of 1.3% compared to the same month in 2024, according to data from ACAROM (Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association).
At the Dacia plant in Mioveni, 29,031 vehicles were assembled, while the Ford Otosan facility in Craiova manufactured 23,368 units.
In the first nine months of 2025, the two plants produced a combined total of 399,199 vehicles — a 2.2 percent decrease compared to the same period last year, when 408,176 units were built.
Romania’s automotive industry set a record in 2024, with production exceeding 550,000 units for the first time.
