Schaeffler Romania increases its production capacities through a financing contract with the Ministry of Economy
Schaeffler Romania signed a financing contract with the Ministry of Economy, through the de minimis aid scheme “Support granted for the implementation of the Program to increase the competitiveness of industrial products”, for the Project “Endowment of the laboratory for testing and validation of bearings in Schaeffler Romania”. The total value of the contract is almost 550,000 RON, of which 50 percent is state aid and 50 percent is a contribution from the company.
The project approved by the Ministry of Economy is focused on developing the measurement capacities in the Schaeffler Testing and Validation Center in Romania through the purchase of two equipments, which will increase the measurement accuracy of the plastic cages, as well as the accuracy of certain parameters on the rollers. The investment aligns with the company’s commitment to focus on innovation and development and to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of products and services for global customers. High-tech solutions are part of the strategic objectives of the location in Brasov, the second largest production location in the Schaeffler Group, which for more than 20 years has consolidated its leading position on the local and global market in the field of large bearings and components for the automotive industry.
The development of the Schaeffler Testing and Validation Center in Romania brings important benefits for Schaeffler, by increasing the degree of operational efficiency, as well as through a concrete contribution in increasing the quality of the products and services offered. The investment will also provide an important support for the improvement of the teams of specialists from the Brasov location, as stated by Sergiu Rosianu, R&D Manager: “The signing of the financing contract with the Ministry of Economy represents another important step for the development of research and development capacities for the validation of products in Schaeffler Romania. We are purchasing new equipment to support the 180 engineers, who work for various research and development projects.”
